Why can't I reach the Internet?

What to do if there is no Internet access

If you are using a web browser and you can view only ICTP web pages or no web pages at all, check the proxy settings of your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla etc.). The browser must not be set up to access the Internet directly nor can it use any other proxy server than those of the ICTP.

One option is to specify host name and port number, namely proxy.ictp.trieste.it and 3128 respectively. Otherwise you can specify an automatic configuration script which is http://wpad.ictp.it/wpad.dat. Some browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox) have an auto-detection option that should also work.
